About Me

I’m the person teams turn to when something is messy, undefined, or frustrating and they need a solution that just works. My strength is blending technical skill with a calm, human approach that helps customers feel supported, confident, and capable.
I understand APIs, SQL, integrations, data transformation, and automation well enough to solve real problems without overcomplicating them. I can test endpoints, map data, debug workflows, redesign processes, and build automation that clears out repetitive work. I’m not the loudest in the room, but I’m the most reliable, the one who brings clarity and gets things done.
Customers trust me because I explain things simply, connect with them in a real way, and build solutions that fit how they actually work. I don’t force rigid systems on people. I listen, adjust, and create workflows that reduce friction and make life easier. I help people get to “yes,” even when the path isn’t obvious.
Inside the organization, I raise the bar. I document, teach, simplify, automate, and create tools that become the new standard. I pull messy problems apart, find the patterns, isolate variables, and guide teams through technical decisions in a way that makes complex issues feel manageable. I bring humor and positivity, so work feels lighter when I’m involved.
At my core, I’m a technical problem solver who cares about the people I’m solving problems for. I want customers to walk away feeling more confident, less stressed, and excited to use the solution I built. I want teammates to feel supported and energized. And I want leadership to know I own the work, solve hard problems, and improve the product along the way.

Resume
John Forbis, Technical Analyst
My career centers on one theme: turning messy, unclear technical and operational problems into simple, reliable systems people trust. I’ve worked across customer-facing implementations, integrations, automation, and product operations, often becoming the go-to person when something complex needed to be figured out quickly and calmly.
Business Analyst, Product Operations
In Product Operations, I focused on fixing systemic data and cost-model issues that affected leadership decision-making. I rebuilt hosting cost allocation and forecasting models from the ground up, cleaning and reconciling large datasets across finance, product, and engineering. This work uncovered over $2M in misallocated costs and significantly improved confidence in product-level margin reporting. Beyond the models themselves, I created reusable templates and documentation so the work would scale instead of living in spreadsheets only I understood.
Senior Implementation Analyst / Technical Specialist
As an Implementation Analyst and Technical Specialist, I owned complex customer onboarding work involving API integrations, data mapping, and workflow design. I worked directly with customers to clarify requirements, test endpoints, troubleshoot integrations, and redesign workflows to fit how teams actually operate. I became known for taking vague or “broken” problems and breaking them into clear steps that led to reliable solutions. Along the way, I built internal tools, automated reporting, and documentation that reduced friction for both customers and internal teams.
Senior Implementation Consultant / Project Manager
Earlier at CivicPlus, I led implementations for municipal Parks and Recreation departments nationwide. Drawing on more than a decade of industry experience, I guided customers through configuration, data setup, and go-live with a focus on long-term usability rather than short-term launch success. This role sharpened my ability to balance project momentum with empathy, helping customers adopt new systems without feeling overwhelmed.
Recreation Center Manager, City of Lenexa, KS
Before moving fully into technical roles, I managed operations for a large municipal recreation center. Alongside leading teams and daily operations, I built dashboards, improved financial and operational workflows, and introduced data-driven reporting for leadership. This role grounded my technical work in real-world operations and gave me deep empathy for end users, a perspective that continues to shape how I design systems today.
